A package was submitted to savannah.gnu.org
This mail was sent to address@hidden, address@hidden
Danilo Šegan <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: PHP gettext
System name: php-gettext
Type: GNU
Description:
I'm working on a simple replacement library for gettext in PHP. For now, it
provides just the gettext() and ngettext() calls, and can read binary MO files
as described in gettext.info. The idea is to expand it to be a simple drop-in
replacement for GNU gettext library, when one isn't available on the system
(fairly common on web hosting providers).
The current source code (updated with disclaimers at the start of each source
file, as per http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html) is available at
http://kvota.net/hacks/php-gettext/php-gettext-1.0.2.tar.gz
On translators' side, everything is still the same: they use the same GNU
gettext tools (xgettext, msgfmt, msgmerge, ...) as with GNU gettext library.
The goal is to have something similar Python already provides in newer releases.
Other Software Required:
PHP
Other Comments:
The licence is currently GPL, but I might consider switching it to LGPL if
that's considered better (or more in line with GNU gettext library licence).
