Hi,

The following project was submitted to Savannah. It needs evaluation to
become a GNU package, can you give it a look, please ?

Submitter: <address@hidden>
Project Full Name: PHP gettext
Project System Name: php-gettext
License: gpl
Approval URL: https://savannah.gnu.org/admin/groupedit.php?group_id=5617
Description: I'm working on a simple replacement library for gettext in PHP.
For now, it provides just the gettext() and ngettext() calls, and can read
binary MO files as described in gettext.info. The idea is to expand it to be a
simple drop-in replacement for GNU gettext library, when one isn't available on
the system (fairly common on web hosting providers).

The current source code (updated with disclaimers at the start of each source
file, as per http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html) is available at
http://kvota.net/hacks/php-gettext/php-gettext-1.0.2.tar.gz

On translators' side, everything is still the same: they use the same GNU
gettext tools (xgettext, msgfmt, msgmerge, ...) as with GNU gettext library.
The goal is to have something similar Python already provides in newer releases.
