Category: None
Priority: 5 - Normal
Severity: 9 - Blocker
Resolution: Works for me
Assigned to: Beuc
Originator Email: address@hidden
Status: Closed

Summary: CVS Server

Original Submission: I try to check in into my cvs repository (project
phpcompta) but I've sometimes strange problems

For example
address@hidden commit -m 'Improve appearance in user interface for ach, ven,
fin and ods'
cvs commit: Examining .
Received disconnect from 199.232.41.3: 2: Could not create socket pairs: Cannot
allocate memory
cvs [commit aborted]: end of file from server (consult above messages if any)

10 minutes later, the same command hangs or succeeds I have no idea why, I use
the same console without changing anything, I just repeat the command until it
succeeds.

Yesterday cvs worked fine :(

The severity is 9 because I need to check in the last changes, and after making
a release for tomorrow

Best Regards,

Dany

No the problem doesn't occur anymore I don't understand.

I remember that it was related to my repository on savanah : it hangs when
reading a file but I don't remember which one, probably an I/O issue.

Anyway it has been working correctly for 2 days, solved ?

Best Regards,

D.

The machine seemed very busy a few days ago, though I do not have details on
that issue.
Does it still happen now?

Apparently the problem is related to your ssh

As you can see below the ssh connection hangs
dany 26793 21234 0 Apr01 pts/4 00:00:00 cvs -z4 commit -m Bug fix
dany 26794 26793 0 Apr01 pts/4 00:00:00 ssh subversions.gnu.org -l
sparkyx cvs server
address@hidden -p 26794
Process 26794 attached - interrupt to quit
read(4, <unfinished ...>
Process 26794 detached

he's waiting for a ssh connection but there is no timeout (?)
