Works for me.  I believe this is happens because exim return >= 0 (which PHP's 
mail() function interprets as an error).

Summary:  error msg when requesting email change

Original Submission:  Database updated [#1]; The system reported a failure when 
trying to send the confirmation mail. please retry and report that problem to 
administrators [#2]; 

Nevertheless, confirmation emails are correctly sent, and the change can 
proceed.  Jus a little scary, nothing more :)
