I am having the same problem:

  (CVSROOT=:ext:address@hidden:/webcvs)
  [$] address@hidden (~/devo/sv-webcvs) cvs co software/gdb
  Enter passphrase for key '/people/elfyn/.ssh/id_rsa':
  cvs [checkout aborted]: end of file from server (consult above messages if 
any)

I will contact address@hidden and ask them if they can check if the 
permissions are OK.

I have added myself to the 'gdb' project to see if that will help (doubtful).  
I will try again in the morning.
