Bryon Gill <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: Pyano
System name: pyano
Type: GNU

Description:
Pyano is a music tutor. It teaches a user to sight-read musical notation using
midi files. It is set up as a game, where the user must enter the right notes
at the right time as they scroll across the screen. In the future other modes
will be added to teach music theory, such as chord and scale recognition.

The program is written in Python and is used with the ALSA sound architecture.
It uses pygame to display the notes on the screen, and reads from a midi device
to match those notes to notes played by the user. It's not ready for release
yet, but the pieces are mostly in place. You can obtain a working copy at

http://www.leftrightleft.org/pyano.tar

The file pyano.py is the main executable for the program. The final program
will be licensed under the GPL, as will any/all midi files distributed with it.

Other Software Required:
pygame (http://www.pygame.org)
