My goal is actually just to download the grub repository so I can compile it.
To that end, I'm following the suggestion to execute this
scp -r address@hidden:/srv/bzr/grub my-repo
If I can get a copy without using ssh with scp, then the following may be unnecessary.
Otherwise, please help me configure ssh.
I am a noob, and so I have invested some time in trying to learn my way to a solution, and I've made some good progress, but now I'm stumped.

I created my RSA1 key-pair using
ssh-keygen -t rsa1 -b 1024

and the result is a pair of key files in ~/.ssh/
identity
identity.pub

The public key is
1024 35 124285146596762189900658593144342757518392582127925321855778530879606311963865637628558669565033224578113961688067059775946123142568537171844637273276460335200964706217068275413009335427258281830364133896513636014706015579894229335135327572626994136777410126129008726502481953955154991368968050672733467855197

It doesn't begin ssh-rsa as your example key does?

I'm on a mac, running OS X 10.6.3, ssh versions are shown below

Here's what happens when i execute ssh -vvv address@hidden
