thanks for your quick reply!

wrt. 1) setting the project homepage in settings is not really an issue for
now. problem are well established search engine results that need to be told
the content moved :)

wrt 2) you are correct

http://www.nongnu.org/duplicity respects the .htaccess

https://duplicity.nongnu.org/ however does not. also it seems to ignore file
deletions or updates to website content (html-files).
