  fastjar is a 'jar' utility.  jar is like tar, but uses
a zip format.

The sources to the version of fastjar we plan to import
are currently in the GCC svn repository.  See the
gcc/fastjar directory:

We are moving this project out of the GCC repository
at the explicit request of the GCC SC and RMS.



Other Software Required:

  The only dependency is zlib, but that is in all the distros
I know of.


Other Comments:
---------------
  It would help if this project's creation were expedited, so
that we can remove fastjar from the GCC svn repository more
quickly, without disrupting users too much
