Thomas, you are also running version 1.1.1 of the keyserver software.
You will find that some will refuse to peer with you unless you are
running at least 1.1.3.

The peering wiki link above gives you details about how to configure
apache/nginx to sit in front of your keyservers as a reverse proxy (RP).
It gives you the ability to have multiple keyservers on the backend and
have your RP distribute it across them if you're seeking fault
tolerance.

In short, I'd consider that peering wiki link to be a Best Practices for
an SKS keyserver.
