Hi Halim, Bill seems to say, that Speech Dispatcher includes some
changes, which make it more difficult or even impossible to run other
client technologies than Orca with Speech Dispatcher. I really wonder
which changes these are. I know about changes, which make running
Speech Dispatcher possible in some system configurations, which are now
default in several distributions. I know nothing about changes which
make some of the previously functioning setups impossible. If you know
about such a change, please let us know, this must be a bug.

As we see from the thread you mention, this is a broad topic, but to
answer the original problem, do you really know of a problem that makes
it impossible to run SD in a system setup, that previously worked, such
as global instance listening on a TCP port started from an init script
and using ALSA?

Best regards, Tomas
