[STUMP] Wikis, and doing something with http://antidesktop.net/

For starters I'd like to call everyones attention to the wikis for
ratpoison and stumpwm. I've neglected to follow the changes on them
for a while, during which time apparently one of them has been found
by link spammers.

I've taken care of it, and is monitoring the RecentChanges feeds
again, but I'd like to say that you don't really have to depend on me
for that. The best way to keep spammers off a wiki is to have a base
of vigilant users prepared to remove any spam as soon as it shows up.

My experience is that if any link spam is removed in a timely fashion,
link spammers will give up and move along.

Anyway, I'd like to encourage more people to start monitoring the wiki
feeds, to keep the spammers at bay, and to improve the editing on the
wikis.

You can get the feeds in different flavours, but here are the ones I use:

http://ratpoison.antidesktop.net/cgi-bin/wiki?action=rss;days=1;all=1;showedit=1;diff=1
http://stumpwm.antidesktop.net/cgi-bin/wiki?action=rss;days=1;all=1;showedit=1;diff=1

For other ideas on how you can help improving the wikis, take a look
at http://ratpoison.antidesktop.net/cgi-bin/wiki/WikiGnome

I also thought I mention an idea I have already put out there via IRC,
regarding the domain antidesktop.net. Basically I'd like it to be used
as a portal for window managers, maybe with articles by users of
different window managers similar to
http://freshmeat.net/articles/view/581/ (which inspired the name of
the domain).

I haven't found the time to set up this page and solicit articles,
though. So if someone else would like to handle that, I'd be glad to
set up a CMS with which they could do that. I already maintain
instances of WordPress and Textpattern for other sites, so one of
those would be preferrable to me. It could be a nice idea to run the
whole thing as a group blog.

If that is something you'd like to do, get in touch with me. (I don't
follow the mailing lists, so that won't work.)
