Hm, unfortunately there's a problem with this patch.
It works fine with ;reload but when I recompile stumpwm via make clean
all, ;quit and restart (with sbcl), I get a huge memory leak and
stumpwm hangs, logging lots of out of memory errors to stderr.
Attached patch fixes this, although it's less elegant than I would
like. I kept return-escaped-carets in there.
I'm not sure why this effect happens, a wild guess is that it has
something to do with the compilation process, but I'm not familiar
with how this works in common lisps.
Could someone point me at the appropriate docs or even come up with
some compile-time magic to make return-escaped-carets work here?
Kind regards
FDF
