Indeed. The whole --Xopt, --pdf and so on given as argument for texi2any
is not documented, however, unless I missed something.
You're right. I think I had been waiting until we had decided what the
behavior should be. I'll try to write it up now.
If -E is given to texi2any and the format is a format handled by
texi2dvi, should the normal error handling apply? That is error
messages and warnings are output, an error stops the processing
unless --force is set and other similar rules?
You're talking about something like this?
texi2any -E somefile.out --pdf somefile.texi
Egad. If somefile.texi has errors, the resulting mess will certainly be
quite confusing -- some errors coming from TeX (or texi2dvi) and others
from makeinfo. But I think it's not our problem to straighten it out,
but rather to provide maximum information. So if you agree, my
inclination is to say yes, normal error handling applies.
