I did a test of converting the Texinfo CVS repository (as of a few days
ago) to Subversion. Doing an svn update takes something like 10-20
seconds instead of the near-two-minutes that cvs update takes. So
unless there is some objection, I want to switch. Thoughts?
(To forestall one possible alternative: I'm not interested in switching
to git, even though so many other GNU programmers have been happily
using it. I just don't like it.)
If you want to see the test svn repository, see recipe at
https://savannah.gnu.org/svn/?group=texinfo for getting a checkout. I'm
not sure yet if I'll have to wipe it completely or will be able to
incrementally add what's changed since, so it'd be better not to commit
anything to it.
