Ok, I see this

after loading the document

49157 texmacs.bi 0.8% 0:07.81 2 86 491 26M 51M 42M 486M

after the first iteration of scroll-down/scroll-up

49157 texmacs.bi 4.3% 0:09.23 2 87+ 497 27M+ 51M 43M + 487M+

after ten more iterations

49157 texmacs.bi 4.8% 0:21.41 2 86+ 507 28M 51M 44M- 488M

after 20 more iterations

49157 texmacs.bi 3.6% 0:42.30 2 86+ 522 32M+ 51M 48M- 491M

Hi Joris,
I'm looking at the memory issue on the Mac, however I cannot trace
down any anomalous patten apart form the steady allocation of 16 bytes
chunck which I reported before (and which I agree is very small).
Could you give me some reference figures of the leak you observe and
the actions you are performing during the run?

In a terminal window, I launch 'top'.
I next launch 'texmacs' and do

Help -> Manual -> Typing simple texts

I now scroll down with the "page-down" key and,
being at the end of the document, back up using the "page-up" key.
I repeat this scrolling operation while keeping an eye
on the terminal with top. About every four down/ups,
I notice 1Mb increase in memory consumption.
