I do this, e.g. I copy/cut a thing, paste it in one place, "massage"
it somewhat, and repeat this in other places. For this, I've
implemented in my Emacs a second kill-ring which collects snippets
only from two specific copy cut key-bindings (I still use the first
kill-ring for "local editing", e.g. moving a word).
