We are not talking about the version number of winboard.exe, so I guess it 
is no problem.

To distinguish all the versions I privately distribute, I always use 
letters in the path levels,
and they are faithfully displayed in the help->about. Which is all I care 
about. It doesn't seem
to produce any errors. I never commit the config.h anyway.
