Just some information: 

* This are indeed multiple copies of the same email, not multiple emails 
  with the same text. So it is not that people posted their mails multiple
  times because they got lost. That's what I thought first, because this
is,
  what I did  - see my duplicate postings on the libtool mailing list

* Here is a small procmail receipt to ignore duplicate emails. Because of
  this I did not get multiple copies:

:0 Wh: $PMDIR/msgid.lock
| /usr/local/bin/formail -D 8192 $PMDIR/msgid.cache

* There were exactly 383 duplicate mails, that's at least, what my
procmail 
  log says.
