AC_DIVERSION_INIT and autoconf 2.52

Isn't a little unreasonable to expect everyone to read, study
and virtually memorize the entire manual?  How else would one
be expected to notice an aside mentioned in one of the texi
nodes?  Would a patch be accepted that substituted "AP_" for
non-public "AC_" names?  A few minutes with emacs, sed and
grep ought to do the trick....I wonder how much painful howling
would result.... :-(
