Re: [avr-chat] Verify with STK500 has gotten very slow

Thanks for the replies. Ironically it cleared up very
shortly after I sent the message. I checked the
oscillator setting for the controller before sending
the original message (should have mentioned that) and
it was set to max. The uploads themselves were
running fine, it was only the verify that was taking
so long.

All I can figure is something had gotten corrupted
from the repeated reloads as I made minor tweaks to my
simple little program. I had powered down the STK500
several times trying to clear the problem once it
showed up but had not power cycled it in a couple
hours and many uploads before that. When I powered it
down I would turn it off, remove the input power to
the board, turn it back on with the onboard switch to
drain any residual voltage, reapply input voltage to
the board, and power it back on. This DID NOT clear
the problem.

However, while typing the email to the list I shut the
board off. It took several minutes to type and send
the message. When I powered it back up again it was
fine. Go figure.

Thanks again,
Tubbs
