In the testing branch we actually had a plugin to do hunting (longest idle, though...). Hmm, I like the idea of incremental. Basicaly, the last start issued would have to save when it left off, and the new one would have to be able to pick up the save, and also wrap to the start of the list when it reaches the end. The default mode of starting at the front was created around the idea of having analog two way trunks where glare can occur if you hit a trunk to dial out that may be receiving a call. Certainly, if you have dedicated outbound trunks or don't get glare (digital trunking), then I agree incremental is better.

David,

I think it would be a great improvement to have flexible hunting

Example Incremental would be great! (Most idle is not necessary I think because the most idle time-slot may be the malfunctioning one)

1: Port will have more time to recover from last calls

2: If a port is out the impact on the overall traffic will be minimized

I guess this should not be to hard to implement?

Julien
