At this point, I think you should discuss matters with your colleagues
from Arch Linux. They should help you answer the following questions:
- When upgrading from a previous release to a new release, what are
the best practices? Is there some checklist I have to follow?
- How do I modify a patch that no longer applies?
- Can I / should I pull patches from other distros such as Fedora
or Debian?
- When I encounter an FTBFS, what is the recommended checklist?
- When I report a bug upstream, what information should I include?
I can't give you the answers, since I am a package developer, not a
distro guy.
