--bindir=/usr/bin --sbindir=/usr/sbin --sysconfdir=/etc --datadir=/usr/share
--includedir=/usr/include --libdir=/usr/lib --libexecdir=/usr/libexec
--localstatedir=/var --sharedstatedir=/usr/com --mandir=/usr/share/man
--infodir=/usr/share/info --with-gcc --with-pop --with-sound'

Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:
Attempting to load a directory with "find-file" does nothing
if performed in a buffer containing a file from that directory.
It works as expected if the trailing slash is removed from the
suggested directory name. Another possibility to get it working
is the replacement of the path by an equivalent one, e.g.,
using "/home/username/" instead of "~/".
