Hi Pete,

I did my orignal copying from the UTF8 page with konqueror, which does not have this problem, doing it with Mozilla showed that we still need to support more of the X selection interface. The error I do get here is a bit clearer than the one you list:

Unsupported data type 'INCR' from X selection.

And INCR is a rather complex X selection transfer mode, which really has not been implemented up to now (Checkout section 2.7.2 of the ICCCM standard). I may look into this later on, but any help here is really appreciated.

Cheers
Fred

would you two mind to retest large cut&paste again? I did fix this

Still doesnt work for me here. Interestingly I am seeing an error on the
temrinal now:

2003-08-19 10:56:57.078 gpbs[35842] Unsupported data type from X selection.
2003-08-19 10:56:57.078 gpbs[35842] Unsupported data type from X selection.

I always get the line twice.

When you test can you copy all of http://www.columbia.edu/kermit/utf8.html
and paste it into Ink.app O.K. ? This is what is failing for me. But
portions of the page work fine - I can copy and paste the whole page
a chunk at a time (I think, I am fairly sure I got it all) so it
seems to be size dependent to me. I also tried with pages containing straight
Latin1 text and that gives the same result.

What are you testing on that it works for you ? Have you tried that UTF8
page at all ?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings...

-bat.
