Sorry, my example was a bit thin. It is
hard to see the problem when only the
chords print without a staff.

Here is a more complete example:

<< \context ChordNames {
      \set chordChanges = ##t
The way I read the 2.6 documentation is that you want to set

chordChanges = ##f   %false

if you want the chord printing to change when you want it to instead of when 
the chord changes.

Is that what you meant?
