I'll do the windows one based on this I have no problems.

1. Do we need to care whether it is XP, Vista, or Win7? As I use Win7.

2. I can sort of see why you'd care about 80 Chars rule, but shouldn't GIT  
be doing
that in the commit command itself or is there a switch git commit -a -88 or  
git
format-patch origin -88 perhaps I can document? or is this just something  
lily
developers like!

3. what is the reason for the second line being blank?
