I added an "always echo" flag to make last year

I found it very useful debugging OTHERs makefiles (I got very annoyed
with building something...).

I agree, to keep with GNU conventions I prefer your patch to having --debug=no-silent,no-jobs etc.

Is there a way I can vote for your patch Marty? Paul, could Marty's patch be reviewed again for inclusion please?
