Linux partitions

A quick newbie question. I wish to add Linux partitions to install and try
out Linux. What is the best setup? I presently have C as primary (with
win98), D (xp), E and F as logical. There is 10GB empty (for Linux) between
D and E. What do you suggest?

Thanks for any hints.
Peter
