BTW, these are not issues to me, but the 4.2-4.3 diff is empty,
and since there no 3.7-4.0 diff all the 3.x diffs seem almost
useless -- at least from the point of view of someone who needs
to apply all the patches backwards to resurrect a relic!

After I asked for an account on gnu-dist last december, Paul
Fisher told me the following:
| Please don't delete old releases of the programs you maintain
| -- if you want to get them out of the way, please move them to
| ~ftp/old-gnu.
I like this concept of cemetery. Space is cheap, and old
versions have important archaeological value. Moving them in a
separate directory limits the size of things to be mirrored
worldwide, which I guess is the point of maintain.texi.
