I'm afraid I have forgotten that, sorry.

But as Karl reports that it works for him, and as I'm short in time,
I'll take the liberty to forget about this.

PS: I take similar approach to automake.texi bug report; it seems to
work now, please resubmit if it doesn't.  The development of texinfo is
too hectic nowadays, and with broken CVS and delayed mail delivery...
