As this typographic rule is systematic in text, I'd like to avoid
putting @tie or @dmn at every occurence, which would make it hard to
read. If there is no other solution, we'll do this though.

Maybe I am too lazy or naive to think about something else. I'll try
simple text substitution
' !' -> ' !'
' ?' -> ' ?'
' :' -> ' :'
' ;' -> ' ;'
in the generated HTML. We already do ugly post-processing like cheating
with node names and dummy cross references, so it won't hurt adding this
to our build scripts.
