For the record, the Info result will be the same (-), but not the TeX
result. A minus sign is not a hyphen.
Another thing you'll have to take care of ...
Indeed. Another approach would be to put the whole document in
@verbatim. That would just leave the @asis{#}.
If one doesn't actually want to use Texinfo features, there is no
purpose I can see in creating Texinfo documents.
