Sure, but going to a lot of trouble to disable -- and such other basic
things seems nonsensical to me. The result will look lousy. It is not
rocket science to take care of such things during a conversion. And if
one doesn't want to be bothered, then my answer remains: don't bother
using Texinfo. We're not here to produce substandard documentation.
There are plenty of complaints already about how "basic" Texinfo is.
Whatever.
