Uhhm...OK...so another complex piece of SW I have to deal with :) If I had 
known this before, who knows, maybe I never would have bought this SDR beast.

My experiences with VCS are getting the latest code with some simple commands 
and having no clue what magic stuff there may be behind. Have to dig deeper...
