I've followed many Mac OS people discussion and near the only thing I've seen is, to
summary: "Is GNustep ready so we can use it without participation to it's
coding ? No, it don't have this or that. Okay, I'll check next year if it
willMany of t be ready.". They seems to don't care about all Apple trashed
'standards' and other forgotten projects. New
marketing orientation is always better :-(
Windows people keeps working with MS tools even if they are buggy and expensive
(MSDN cost is really expensive for
independent or small sized companies), even if MS don't care about ascending
compatibility and so on. Why should we try to make them switch to *nix,
GNUstep,... ?
Why did the Christian church use every means to convert "heathens" to their
believe? Because the Christians thought (and probably still think) that their believe is
the only true one. The one believe that makes all people happy and that grings them
salvation. This is the exact reason why we want to convert as many programmers to GNUstep
as possible. Because we are convinced that GNUstep is the only salvation bringing
programming framework in the world.
Seriously, this last question is kind of superfluous. Surely, if all those
people want to stick to MFC, OWL, Cocoa whatsoever, I wil be the last one to
bring out fire and sword to make them believe. But I think we should teach them
the alternative. It's in our own interest, or is anyone here content with this
handful of people currently caring for this project? I am not.
Cheers,
Andreas
