There we go again ... please, what's the purpose of giving such  
answers? Besides it is imprecise and not based on any facts - the look  
of Mac OS X, whether metal or stripes, is in no way related to Cocoa,  
it is called Aqua and is used by both, Cocoa and Carbon. Additionally  
the brushed metal look is not the default  nor even the 'new' look,  
Apple gives exact rules when to use it and when not!
