Hi Nicola,

in your process of reorganising all the make file stuff, you created a
harmless but annoying warning message. When recompiling base or gui I
now get this message:

/usr/GNUstep/System/Library/Makefiles/common.make:109: ERROR: Your
GNUSTEP_USER_ROOT environment variable is empty !
/usr/GNUstep/System/Library/Makefiles/common.make:110: *** Please try
again after running ". /usr/GNUstep/System/Library/Makefiles/GNUstep.sh".

The compilation then stops.

I did check /usr/GNUstep/GNUstep.conf and there really is no setting for
GNUSTEP_USER_ROOT in there. Setting and exporting GNUSTEP_USER_ROOT to a
sensible value removes the problem, but I can see newbies being stopped
by this small problem.

Fred
