Hi Scott,

As a test you can try the following :

1. You might try a patched version of cdrtools-2.0 from schily.
   This version has unrestricted DVD-R(W) support. One can find it on

        ftp://ftp.crashrecovery.org/pub/linux/cdrtools/

   i use this version all the time with my Pioneer DVR-A05 4x DVD-R(W)
   burner.

2. You can also try to use a binary only version which does DVD-R(W)'s. Its
   called cdrecord-prodvd. There's a key which needs to be loaded into you
   shell environment before using cdrecord-prodvd :

CDR_SECURITY=8:dvd,clone,lowspeed:sparc-sun-solaris2,i386-pc-solaris2,i586-pc-li
nux,powerpc-apple,hppa,powerpc-ibm-aix,i386-unknown-freebsd,i386-unknown-openbsd
,i386-pc-bsdi,mips-sgi-irix,i386-pc-sco:1.11::1060000000:::private/research/educ
ational_non-commercial_use:2cYpgwkzDUMuGKCsVC6GKCPAzacxjmfvy1HGARNvns6KuGaaEGDNC
HrMsn7

If you don't load this key you won't be able to burn DVD-R iso's beyond
the size of 1024 Mb. cdrecord-prodvd can be downloaded from :

        ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/cdrecord/ProDVD

Regards,

Robert
