Wiki has solved that problem. That's in the domain of wikis, of
course, but I think it points to hope that Emacs, the *self-documenting*
editor-cum-operating-system-and-Swiss-Army-knife[1] could solve it, too.
Obviously, imagining the volunteers doesn't actually motivate them to
edit and submit, nor provide committers to integrate the changes. So
I don't think my pipe dream should affect source format decisions in
the short run.
