No, I am talking about proprietary software developers, purveyors of
DRM, and such. They want power over people, and we fight to take
away their power.
"Enemies" is exactly the word for that.

We have no prejudice against good TECHNICAL ideas that happen to come
from our enemies. But this is not a technical competition. We are
fighting to give users freedom, and our enemies are fighting to deny
users that same freedom.
