Then it's a bug, because:

  fgrep make-pointer-invisible src/TAGS
  => src/TAGS:8019:  DEFVAR_LISP ("make-pointer-invisible"^?5068,158129


  emacs -Q
  M-x visit-tags-table RET src/ RET
  M-x find-tag RET make-pointer-invisible RET

shows the corresponding DEFVAR_LISP line from frame.c.
