I don’t use Gmail but rather my own self-hosted
mail server, including a web interface.  FWIW,
my experience with using isync/mbsync for
synchronizing my mail and its state between the
dovecot on my laptop and the one running on my
mail server has been very smooth so far.  I’d
imagine Gmail to be somewhat similar.

Probably not, but I’m not sure.  I think Lars
and others more knowledgeable about the Debbugs
package have already replied and started
discussing about that, though. :)
