If you want to update an old textbook, I can definitely agree to stating
clearly the original book from which you started, but I see no need to
include a clear separation of what you changed (it might be nice to
include a brief summary, maybe, but I see no reason to request it from
the license).

Similarly, how/why would you list the differences for a translation of
the book (other than "translated from Foo by Bar")?
