One change I previously suggested is the value of uniquify-buffer-name-style to 'forward, which most distributions out there use.
It's a small difference, but again -- no go. Another similar changes: require-final-newline -> t indent-tabs-mode -> nil (of course)show-paren-mode seems universally acclaimed as well (though prelude and doom-emacs use smartparens for a similar effect), so why not enable it too.
