If it were possible for the former to fix how they want the defaults to
be by adding something like

    (load-theme 'emacs-27)
Its contents could look like the node "Antinews" in the Info manual,
but with code that reverts all release changes.
Assuming you are serious, no: "Antinews" mentions only a small
fraction of changes called out in NEWS.

And vice versa: I would expect at least some changes in defaults to go uncontested, then they don't need to go into the good-old-days profile.

Though whenever somebody objects -- in they go.
