We should try to pick better proportional fonts, it sounds like.  The
fonts picked on Debian and Macos look pretty good to me, so perhaps this
is mostly a problem on Windows?

I thought that looked pretty reasonable?  The bold font is really big,
though -- it looks like a greater difference then the monospace
normal/bold juxtaposition.
