By following my notes I was able to ./configure; make and make install on
Ubuntu Mate 18.04. This worked with both 1.10.2 and 1.10.3. I then tried to
setup the same environment on 20.04 with the bionic sources added to vim
/etc/apt/sources.list per tromoto's instrutions:
deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic universe
deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic multiverse
I then tried to install the necessary packages per my notes and which worked on
18.04:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install -y build-essential itstool libglib2.0-dev libxml2-utils
gtk+2.0 libgnome-2.0 libgnomeui-dev gcc-8 g++-8
Here is what failed:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libgnome-2-0 : Depends: libbonobo2-0 (>= 2.32.1-3~) but it is not going to be
installed
libgnomeui-dev : Depends: libgnomeui-0 (= 2.24.5-3.2) but it is not going to be
installed
Depends: libgnome2-dev (>= 2.13.7) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libgnome-keyring-dev (>= 0.4) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libbonoboui2-dev (>= 2.13.1) but it is not going to be installed
tromoto - if you are following this list PLEASE tell us the secret to making
your workaround work.
TIA,
Ken
