please, provide me with a GDB backtrace, then I'll have a look. I don't
have a macos machine, so I can't test it otherwise, I'm sorry.

but, my in my opionion, there's probably some file missing or in the
wrong place, looking at the code and the assert.

I don't really know what to tell you on how to fix it, as I have no idea
how stuff like this works on macos...
