Solaris 11 only runs on fairly recent SPARC servers that most individiuals
are not going to have. For example it doesn't run on sparc4u which includes
Sun Blades, Sun Fire V servers and tons of commonly-owned boxes.

Solaris 10 Intel under VMWare would probably be more helpful than Solaris 11
under VMWare but at any rate you need real hardware to test the SPARC
version. Surprisingly there are still minor differences that catch us once
in a while. However we might get lucky and you'll solve the problem on
Solaris 10 Intel for both platforms.
